The 69 Collective
 3 - 20 August, 2017

Gallery Viewing - Thurs to Sun 11-4 pm

According to the expanding universe theory, everything moves away from everything else. Perhaps the practice of art is a way to combat this. Art seeks to coalesce disparate and far-flung ideas into one object. Approximately 50 artists who were forced to go their separate ways when the long running 69 Smith St Gallery's building was sold, have come together under the provisional name of 'The 69 Collective' to present an exhibition on the theme of Movement

Yarra Sculpture Gallery acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people as the Traditional Owners and true sovereigns of the land now known as Yarra. We also acknowledge the significant contributions made by other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to life in Yarra. We pay our respects to Elders from all nations - and to their Elders past, present and future.
