Pathways
Project 17

11th - 21st Aug

Opening Sat 13th Aug, 3 to 5pm

Photography collective Project 17 presents Pathways, an extensive and diverse collection of photographs and video. Through Pathways each photographer follows their own direction, exploring concepts as far ranging as identity, dance, mental health, dystopia and memory.

This exhibition showcases and celebrates the difference in a world where conformity and conventionality can be overwhelming. While for some diversity and change can be seen as harmful and negative, this Project 17 exhibition aims to counter that view and empower and inspire though a journey of our shared voices.

"...Colour is fashionable - as long as we can slavishly follow the dictates of trend forecasters.  Artists, on the other hand, select and mix colours solely or in combinations to create particular desired effects and sensations. Artists experience colour directly and intimately - in the past through powder pigments transformed into oil or acrylic paint – now in a variety of media. That colour can be illusive, unstable, create inexplicable perceptual paradoxes and be breathtakingly seductive is surely inarguable…”  Wilma Tabacco
